Celebrate the gifts of 2017 and welcome 2018 with a sense of adventure and positive attention!
Chiang Mai & The Islands / December 28, 2017 - January 6, 2018
Join Beccah Bartlett on a special New Year retreat filled with yoga, exploration and volunteering in the northern Thai town of Chiang Mai. This retreat will offer the opportunity not only to experience and enjoy a new culture, but also to give back in a big way through seva, or selfless service. In addition to staying and volunteering in a hill tribe village outside Chiang Mai, we'll also travel down south to soak up the sun on the island paradise.
Throughout the retreat you will have the opportunity to attend daily yoga classes, guided journaling and meditation sessions, adventure excursions, personal pampering at more.
As one of Yogamour's Co-Founders, Beccah Bartlett, has been leading retreats in Thailand for more than 5 years and lives in Chiang Mai working intimately with the hill tribe community Yogamour supports. Learn more about Beccah here.
During our time in Chiang Mai we will be working with children of a rural Akha hill tribe who have limited rights and access to basic necessities to provide free vision care through out "Yogamour Sees Seva Project". Most of these children have never seen an optometrist before and we need YOUR help to organize the clinic. We will also work with you to create ways to incorporate your own unique skills and interests in interacting with the children. We have previously held dance classes, planted edible gardens, led therapeutic art projects, and more - the possibilities are endless and your help is greatly appreciated!
As a child wrote to one of our volunteers last year, "We know that you could go anywhere or help anyone, but you chose here and you chose me and now we will always be friends."
YOU are the change they've been waiting for.
Chiang Mai, Thailand December 28, 2017 - January 3, 2018
While in Chiang Mai, we'll be staying at a boutique hotel on the outskirts of town amidst rice fields, forests and mountains. You'll enjoy panoramic views from the spacious balcony of your countryside bungalow, relaxing by the resort's pool and dining at the converted rice barn restaurant on site that serves delicious local and international cuisine.
We'll celebrate the new year with a gourmet Thai-style feast as well as a very special ceremony acknowledging the gifts of 2016 and welcoming the blessings of 2017.
Once we leave the beauty of the rice fields your adventures will continue into the Old City of Chiang Mai, where the group will explore golden temples, enjoy fabulous food, visit night markets, experience an authentic Thai massage, cooking classes, trekking and more.
Southern Islands: Koh Lanta, Thailand January 3 - 6, 2018
After discovering the delights of Chiang Mai, we'll fly south to the tropical Thai island of Koh Lanta so you can soak up all the amazing terrain this country has to offer! Compared to some of the more touristy islands Koh Lanta is less visited and has perfectly maintained its natural beauty which extends beyond white sandy coves and calm waves, to lush green jungle growing across the middle of the island making it a visual dream everywhere you look. We will stay in private, air conditioned bungalows near the beach and you can sip your morning tea and coffee with beautiful views surrounding.
Together we will adventure from the mainland to the island on a slow boat as we gently enjoy the views of dozens of islands along the way. Koh Lanta has also been described as a foodie paradise and we are prepared to enjoy all it has to offer with its diverse scene of health foods, fresh juices and international cuisine. We will enjoy an evening sunset along a secret beach and cheers with your favorite drink and fresh coconuts. Daily yoga will be offered with beach views and you'll be sure to arrive back to your home country with a tan, a smile, and feeling relaxed and rejuvenated.
